Following is a response from a friend of mine, Alan Blake, regarding yesterday’s Revelation Unlocked SMS “Who is to Blame.” You are welcome to join the discussion at the bottom of this post.
“You should know Ross that Hamas has killed more Gazans than Israel, indeed today murdering the men and boys who dared to participate in the protest marches last week. The record of Hamas in Gaza since 2006 is beyond awful. Comparing the war with previous genocides like the holocaust, Rwanda and the Albanians is a false equivalence and belittles the suffering of many millions who have perished through hatred. Prior to the Hamas attack on Israel on 7/10/23 the birth rate in Gaza was 56700 in 2023. The death toll even now is less than that and of course Hamas includes its own combatants as civilian deaths, estimated at 20K by Israel. And what genocidal power in history has ever taken the trouble to warn civilians of where the military was going to next attack, which buildings were going to be destroyed and which areas to flee from? Israel does that. And it has saved many lives. Hamas on the other hand use their people as human shields, they attempt to stop Gazans fleeing combat zones and that have killed thousands of their own people for propaganda purposes.
I am appalled by the death and destruction I see in Gaza. I was equally appalled by the unprovoked wholesale slaughter of Jewish civilians on 7/10. The solution to the war is in the hands of Hamas, they have lost the war they started and lost miserably, their failure to surrender unconditionally and release the hostages is the only thing prolonging this war.
So pls spare me your anti-Israel rhetoric and leftist propaganda, for me it is distracting from your message and tainting truth with mis truths. Alan”
My Response: “WOW thanks for that insight, Alan I am going to publish that as a response because it was good and important perspective”
Alan responded “Okay, well thanks. I apologise for the tone being a bit strong. I have become increasingly frustrated by anti-Israel bias in the media and in the world. They are nearly always portrayed as evil and inhumane people, when in fact they have been the victims of endless persecution for 2000 years.
I have had the privilege of travelling to Israel, it is an amazing country, and the people are friendly and accepting, far more than most other places I’ve been to. They are surrounded by hostile Muslims, whose god is abaddon – the devil himself – and they are constantly under threat of extermination. So, I have a lot of empathy for Jews. I am appalled at the rampant hatred towards them in Australia, it is vile stuff, never seen here before. The Jews today living in Israel had no part in the decision of 1947 and 1948, and they are 2nd and 3rd generation of immigrants. They have the same right to exist and live in peace as we do. People who start wars with atrocities should not be complaining when war comes to their streets. I am appalled at the loss of life, it is an unspeakable tragedy and it all rests on Hamas. I respect your right to criticise them and when you do, I will respectfully disagree and respond.
Regards”
My response: “I in no way wanted to excuse Hamas for starting the war, nor do I want anyone to think I am pro Hamas. They had an agenda for there original attack on Israel. The charter of Hamas and Iran their backer is the extermination of Israel. I think Hamas expected the Arab world to join their fight of liberating Israel from “The River to the sea” as they song goes (meaning from the Jordan to the Mediterranean.) The role that America played in foiling this attempt of an Arab invasion of Israel fits well into our understanding of Biblical prophecy as we have discussed in Daniel 11 and now in Revelation 13.”

I don’t normally comment on these issues but I have to agree with Allan for the most part and the fact we have this anti Semitism in this country not just from the Muslim community but from our government leaders, the ABC and SBS. Having said that, we do know the bigger picture who is to blame from bible prophecy that this will only get worse.
I must say I also agree with Alan’s perspective. There are, no doubt some IDF soldiers who see this war as an opportunity for revenge, however Israel has done more to prevent civilian casualties than any adversary in history.
I was appalled at your MSN narrative of Israel committing genocide, and was contemplating an appropriate response.
Thankfully Alan beat me to the punch, and I must say, he did a better job than what I may have done.
Blessings
